She hails from an educated, cultured background, where modeling and acting were never even thought to be career options. Through her childhood, Bipasha nursed the ambition of either being a Doctor or a Chartered Accountant.

It all began for 5’ 8 1/2” Bipasha Basu when she won the Ford Supermodel of the World contest at the age of seventeen. Several titles, including the Tulips Miss Super Vivacious followed.

On July 7, 2007 in Lisbon, Portugal Bipasha co-Hosted along with Academy Award Winners Hilary Swank and Sir Ben Kingsley the live global event to announce The New 7 Wonders of the World. Seen in over 160 countries with over 1.5 billion viewers.
